Here’s where you can view all of ACPE’s entry pathways. Don’t forget, we’re not ATAR dependant, and we recognise prior learning, and individual talent.

Get an early offer before completing Year 12. We assess your Year 11 results and may offer you a place before your HSC exams.

Eligibility and requirements
Open to domestic and international Year 12 students studying in Australia.

Your Year 11 results will be assessed, particularly in subjects related to your chosen course. You must complete Year 12, including your HSC exams, before enrolling.

You should have completed at least four subjects, including English, and:

  • Health Science applicants: Mathematics, Health and Movement, Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Physics, or Investigating Science.
  • Dance applicants: Dance.

Entry pathway details

Priority Entry is a non-ATAR admission pathway based on your Year 12 results.

Eligibility and requirements
Open to domestic and international Year 12 students studying in Australia.

Assessment is based on your performance in relevant Year 12 subjects.

You should have completed at least four subjects, including English, and:

  • Health Science applicants: Mathematics, Health and Movement, Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Physics, or Investigating Science.
  • Dance applicants: Dance.
  • Education applicants: Meet NESA requirements, including three Band 5 results (one in English), and complete the teaching questionnaire.

Current Australian Year 12 students and applicants whose highest qualification is a Year 12 Certificate.

Entry pathway details

The Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) provides an early offer based on your Year 11 performance and your school's recommendation.

Eligibility and requirements
Open to domestic Year 12 students and International Baccalaureate (IB) students studying in Australia.
Assessment is based on your Year 11 results and your school's ratings. You must complete Year 12 and any required HSC, interstate or IB examinations before enrolment.

Current Australian Year 12 students and IB students studying in Australia.

Entry pathway details

If you are under 21 and have not completed Year 12, this pathway may help you start your studies.
You can enrol in one ACPE foundation unit at no cost (conditions apply). Successful completion may make you eligible for admission to a degree.

Eligibility and requirements
Open to domestic students only.

You must:
• Be under 21 years of age.
• Not have completed the HSC or an equivalent Year 12 qualification.

You will enrol as a non-award student and be assessed based on your performance in the foundation unit.

Applicants under 21 who have not completed Year 12.

Entry pathway details

This pathway recognises students from Big Picture Learning schools, where learning is guided by individual interests and demonstrated through a portfolio.

Eligibility and requirements
You may be eligible if you have completed:

• Year 12 at a Big Picture school
• A Big Picture Education Portfolio
• International Big Picture Learning Credentials (IBPLC)

A recommendation from your school principal is also required.

• Bachelor of Education (PHE)
• Bachelor of Dance Education

Thinking about changing universities or colleges? ACPE makes it easy to continue your studies in a supportive learning environment.

Eligibility and requirements

You may be eligible if you have completed at least 2–4 units at an accredited tertiary institution.

Overseas qualifications must be assessed as equivalent to Australian qualifications.

You may also be able to receive credit for previous study through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Applicants who have completed at least 2–4 tertiary units with an accredited education provider.

Entry pathway details

If you have completed a VET qualification rather than the HSC, you may still be eligible for admission.

Eligibility and Requirements

You may be considered if you have completed:
• Certificate III or higher, or
• A Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC)

Overseas VET qualifications must be assessed as equivalent to Australian qualifications

You may also be eligible for credit through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants who have not completed Year 12, or whose Year 12 results do not meet entry requirements, but who have completed a Cert III, Cert IV or TPC.

Entry pathway details

This pathway allows you to study one unit before applying for a full degree.

It is a great option if you would like to experience higher education before committing to a full course.

Eligibility and requirements

Suitable for applicants who:

  • Do not currently meet direct entry requirements, or
  • Want to study a single unit for professional or personal development.

You must successfully complete the unit before being considered for degree admission.

Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants interested in studying a non-award unit, either as a pathway to a degree or as a stand-alone study option.

Entry pathway details

If you are returning to study after time away from education, this pathway may help you begin your higher education journey.

Eligibility and requirements

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are over 21 years of age, and
  • Do not hold a qualification that meets direct entry requirements.

You will need to provide evidence of your work and life experience and may be asked to submit a recent STAT test result.

You may also be eligible for credit based on relevant industry experience.

Applicants over 21 with limited or no qualifications for direct entry to a degree.

Entry pathway details

Want to become a teacher but didn't meet the direct entry requirements?

This pathway allows you to begin studying while working toward entry into an Education degree.

What is a pathway degree?

A pathway degree shares the same first-year subjects as the teaching degree. This means you won't lose any credit if you transfer.

You may be eligible to transfer into the Education degree if you:

  • Achieve a credit average in your first year, or
  • Successfully complete the ACER LANTITE test.

The pathway does not add extra time to your studies.

Open to current Year 12 students and non-school applicants.

Assessment is based on relevant Year 11 and/or Year 12 results.

Entry pathway details

Start with an ACPE Diploma or Associate Degree, or a Diploma at an ACPE partner institution and progress into a bachelor's degree after successful completion.

Completed units may count towards your degree through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
