Leave lunch at home, all food and drink will be provided by ACPE. We love throwing a BBQ, and don’t worry if you’re vegetarian or vegan – we cater for everyone’s dietary needs!

If you are driving and wish to park, Parking Best parking is located at Parking Lot 6 or Parking Lot P6d. Parking can be purchased at a casual basis of $5 per hour with a $25 daily maximum or pre-purchased online for $25 per day.

Limited spaces will be available on campus.

Duncan Tweed | Head of Department, Sport Business

Duncan has held senior management positions in multi-national corporations in both e-commerce and public relations businesses, both in Australia and the United States. In 2010 Duncan graduated with distinction from the FIFA International Master program and commenced the second phase of his career in sport management. He started as Legal Counsel at Football Australia, before becoming CEO of Northern Suburbs Football Association and then Athletics NSW. Prior to joining ACPE, Duncan was the Chief Operating Officer at Paddle Australia. He is currently a PhD candidate researching how sports leagues can capitalise on major international events, using a 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup case study.

About this session

We’ll delve into the fundamental questions regarding the advantages of a Sport Business degree and the resulting career opportunities it presents. Additionally, we will explore the skills and knowledge you will gain, as well as the work experience opportunities available throughout your course of study. These elements will ensure that you are well-prepared and employable upon graduation.

Duncan Greig | Head of Department, Sport Coaching

Duncan has been working at ACPE since 2008 and has been the head of department since 2020. He is very passionate about what he does and is passionate about seeing students reach their potential.

Gareth Long | Director of Program Innovation and Development

Gareth is an experienced educator, coach, and coach developer. Gareth has an MSC in Sport Coaching from Loughborough University. In addition to a career working in schools and universities, Gareth has worked for the English Football Association and Sport Australia.

About this session

Discover Australia’s first Football degree and why it was labelled “The most Aussie degree ever!” by the Today Show. This session will provide an overview of the academic curriculum offered in the course, the involvement of the football industry in supporting the program, and the potential to capitalise on the expanding employment prospects within the football industry. It will also highlight how you can transform your passion for any of the football codes into a thriving football career.

Mikah Van Gogh | Head of Department, Health Science

Mikah has been an academic staff member at ACPE for over 10 years and has completed a Bachelor of Human Movement (Hons), Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) PDHPE and Masters of Sports Coaching. She is an accredited exercise scientist with ESSA and has published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research examining positional demands of netball.

About this session

In this session we will look at how we get people moving and strategies to improve their health.

Diane Grant | Head of Department, Education and Dance

Diane has been an academic staff member at ACPE for 16 years and has been Head of Department for 5 years. Diane has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance) and a Master of Arts (Dance Curriculum). She has a research interest in curriculum development and has contributed to NESA syllabus development.

About this workshop

This session will delve into the course requirements for both Dance and Health and Physical Education (HPE), providing insights into the skills and knowledge students acquire through these degree programs.

Dr Nalina Wait | Lecturer, Dance

Dr Nalina Wait is a Sydney-based dance artist, academic, and full-time lecturer (ACPE) with a particular research interest in how the processes of somatic intelligence can be cultivated in the practice and performance of improvisation.
