In this unique specialised degree, you will explore a range of football codes (e.g., soccer, rugby league, rugby union, AFL, rugby 7s, wheelchair rugby, futsal, touch football) to learn how these global sports deliver exemplary practice in contexts such as coaching, community and participation, inclusion, management and leadership, sports science, and high-performance.

Online Learning

Selected units available online for students enrolled in courses that are not fully online. Online units in these courses are taught with a viable cohort of students. If the cohort in these units is too small to ensure an optimal student experience, the College reserves the right to alter the delivery mode to on-campus or mixed mode.

Study Mode

Flexible mode - students can choose to enrol in a unit delivered in an online mode or via on-campus delivery except for 4 units which are blended (online content with an on-campus intensive component delivered over a weekend).

An applicant may apply for an assessment of their prior learning at the time of applying for entry to an award course of the college.

Course Overview

An overview of the  Associate Degree of Football (Development, Management and Performance)

This associate degree has been designed in collaboration with the football industry so you can rest assured that the content and outcomes are industry relevant and sought after.  The classes are taught by industry experts and revolve around real-life case studies of football professionals, clubs, and organisations. Work-integrated learning placements are a key aspect of this course and you will experience a minimum of 110 hours of placements in football environments.

We know that you value flexibility.  This course is designed to be flexible and can be studied through a combination of on-campus, online, and blended delivery. The final year of the course has been designed so it can be studied while completing a domestic or international placement*.

You will be assessed through real-world activities and through a combination of practical and theory-based tasks.

Course Structure

The Associate Degree of Football (Development, Management and Performance) can be completed in two years of full-time study.  The course program is divided into four semesters, each of 12 weeks’ duration. Study involves approximately 12 contact hours a week (excluding examination and study weeks).
