How to become a Group Exercise Instructor

  • Gain a relevant qualification

 

To become a Group Exercise Instructor, you must have a Certificate III or IV in Fitness and be First Aid Certified in case of an emergency. A good level of fitness is also required to lead the classes effectively. A Certificate IV in fitness will make you a highly desirable candidate for employment.

At ACPE, we offer the Diploma of Sport and Exercise Science, designed as an AQF level 5 course. This diploma will provide graduates with the necessary foundational skills and knowledge to work in entry-level positions in the sports and exercise science industry and help foster career progression.

Whether you’ve recently graduated from high school, are a dedicated industry professional or are looking to increase your career prospects, this diploma will empower you with the expertise to succeed in your role and set you on a path to a rewarding future career.

If you already have a Cert III or Cert IV qualification, this diploma will open doors to career advancement opportunities, propelling you towards more recognition in the industry. Alternatively, if you’ve missed the entry requirements for a Bachelor’s degree, this diploma will be a prerequisite for further studies, such as the Bachelor of Health Science (Exercise). This diploma can be completed in as little as one year full-time or the part-time equivalent, depending on your needs.
