Part of the ACPE advantage is the unparalleled access students are given to employment and internship opportunities within the industries of Sport, Health, Fitness, Dance and Education. Thanks to the combination of our vast partnership network along with our tight-knit alumni community, our students are spoilt for choice when it comes to industry experience.
A prime example of this is the selection of ACPE student Adam Shearan as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Manly Marlins Rugby Club for the 2022 season. Only in his second Semester of a Bachelor of Sports Coaching (Strength and Conditioning), Adam was selected over hundreds of other students to coach at the Marlins.
The Manly Marlins have been a fixture on the NSW Rugby Union scene since 1906, allowing for a wealth of rich learning experiences. Through Paul Collins, the Marlins High Performance Coach, and a member of the ACPE Alumni Committee, Adam was able to use the ACPE network to secure this incredible opportunity. Paul Collins said that this will be an excellent opportunity to be mentored and gain experience to develop his skills both as a coach and as a person. This impact is already being felt by Adam, stating that:
“Over the past month working for the Manly Marlins alongside Paul Collins and Phil Blake has been nothing but perfect. Getting the opportunity to get my foot in the door early within the S&C industry, alongside an ACPE Alumni in Paul is a dream come true. I’m ecstatic to continue on this journey with the Marlins and am very thankful for the opportunity.”
We at ACPE cannot wait to see where this internship will lead Adam and what amazing things he will go on to achieve in his career.
