One of the North Coast’s most dedicated club coaches Rachael Oberleuter has been recognised by Liverpool Football Club winning the International Academy global session of the month for July.
The Global Session of the month is chosen by LFC technical staff in the UK from sessions designed by Academy coaches all over the world, including ACPE’s own LFC NSW Academy.
Long-time Sawtell Scorpions coach Oberleuter, started working with Liverpool Football Club’s International Academy program in Coffs Harbour earlier this year. Her session for 6-8year olds was selected from hundreds of sessions submitted by coaches working in the clubs International Academy program worldwide.
NSW Technical Director Kevin Grima says this is fantastic and a well-deserved award. “It’s a massive achievement for a coach from regional Australia to win this global award.
We are all incredibly proud of Rachael to be recognised for her efforts in designing a high-quality LFC session that showcases best practice” Mr Grima said.
Oberleuter is well known all over the North Coast for her commitment to developing young people through football.
“I was speechless when I got the call that I had won session of the month” Oberleuter said.
“I absolutely love coaching for the Liverpool international academy, I enjoy passing on my experience and knowledge to young players and watching them learn and grow as football players and individuals. I feel privileged to be able to be involved.”
Each year around 40,000 players each year attend Liverpool FC sessions.
The club’s Coffs Harbour Skill Development program based at Bishop Druitt College started in January is open to players of all ability levels says General Manager Scott Collis.
“We offer local boys and girls, the chance an additional session each week that encourages a focus on skill development and ball mastery – accelerating player development and making club football a more rewarding and enjoyable experience” Mr Collis said.
Liverpool FC International Academy NSW is based at The Australian College of Physical Education in Sydney and is Australia’s only Liverpool FC Academy.
