Jeremy Sleiman commenced his studies in 2016 with a degree in Sports Business at ACPE. During his time at ACPE he was able to gain lots of industry experience at various sporting organisations located nearby. Upon completing his degree at ACPE, Jeremy went on to complete his Masters in Sport Management. He started his first full time role with Bring It On Sports, a partner of ACPE since 2021. A few months later Jeremy started his dream role of lecturing in sport business/sport management at the International College of Management Sydney.
Why did you choose to study with ACPE?
The appeal of the Sports Business degree, run by academics and lecturers specialising in the sport industry with real world industry knowledge. The college is based in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct and is surrounded by various industry partners.
What did you enjoy most about your time with ACPE?
I met lots of great people along the way who I currently am still in contact with. The careers team and management have been very supportive along the way. ACPE gave me the opportunity to work overseas in event management. I was able to make the most of the learning and industry experience.
What skills did you gain through studying at ACPE?
In addition to course content and insider industry knowledge I was able to considerably improve my writing, researching, communication, teamwork, leadership, creativity, problem-solving skills.
While studying at ACPE, did you complete any internships or general industry experience?
Yes, during my degree I gained industry experience with Dragons Boats NSW and Sports Camp Australia. Both these experiences gave me the skill which led me to achieve success in other organisations.
How did ACPE help set you up for where you are today?
The careers team has been enormous, they put in contact with the organisations I was able to work, including Dragons Boats NSW, Sports Camp Australia and Bring it On Sports. Without ACPE, I would not have been able to have the opportunity to work in all organisations within an area I am passionate about.
What advice would you have for young adults considering studying with ACPE and pursuing a career in Sport, Health, Fitness, Education or Dance?
ACPE and its career services are very effective. With many industry partners and networks, ACPE is a great place to earn a degree and gain industry experience before graduating. I recommend everyone fully utilise the amazing resources they offer.
