4 easy ways to prepare for your dance workshop
- There is no need to prepare a dance ahead of time. You will be led through an audition class consisting of three parts: a contemporary dance class, a composition task and an improvisation task.
- Securely tie your hair back from your face and be prepared to dance barefooted (bring a pair of socks too).
- It’s a good idea to review our three degree-specific webpages above, in case you have questions for the assessors on the day.
- Be comfortable! Wear form-fitting dance clothes such as tights and leotard or a snug t-shirt.
Can’t make the workshop in person?
We recommend that students attend workshops in person, however, if you live outside the Sydney metropolitan area, you may submit a video audition.
If you are submitting a video audition you simply need to upload one video in either contemporary dance or ballet along with the requirements listed below.
You can submit your audition video by either uploading it to Youtube or Vimeo and sharing the link with us by emailing newstudents@acpe.edu.au or you can upload it to WeTransfer and send it to newstudents@acpe.edu.au. Please ensure in the subject line you have your name followed by words ‘Dance Audition’, e.g. Dianne Colt – Dance Audition.
Successful completion of a dance audition is required to finalise enrolment. For more information, email newstudents@acpe.edu.au or call us on 1800 096 977 (Ext 1).
You can also view the ACPE Dance Audition Preparation video for guidance.
For a video audition, your video should include the following 3 parts:
