20+ years in the business of Education and Sport from grassroots to professional sport. As a coach, teacher, dad, sports speaking tech geek, sports scientists and strength and conditioning coach.

I love being out on the grass with teams and the integration of appropriate technology spins my wheels. I have never walked into a stadium on game day with a frown on my face –  ‘you gotta love what we do’!

Would like to think, that is not by accident that some of my S&C mentors are also good mates. Those who have taught me lessons to ‘win more games on Saturday’s’ (Nic Gill – All Blacks Rugby S&C), to off the field parenting advice ‘answers are not always found in books’ (Stephen Hotter – Silver Ferns Netball S&C). But is also the people, the presentation and the passion for what we do, that play a massive part.

Coaching Philosophy: do less things more, collect insights not information and there is never a lost opportunity, if you don’t take it, someone else will.

Strength and Conditioning Roles:

  • Current Coaching Role: Black Ferns Strength & Conditioning Coach (S&C) / Sports Science. Oversee’s the S&C of 65 athletes in 14 Provincial Unions within the wider women’s rugby program.
  • Past Roles include: High Performance Sport New Zealand Regional S&C, Black Sox & White Sox Softball, NZ-A Cricket, Wellington Firebirds Cricket, Pulse Netball, NZ U21 Netball and NZ Rugby Referees Fitness Advisor.

Industry Recognition:

  • New Zealand Strength & Conditioning Association Founding Member
  • International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport - Oceania Committee
