Starting tertiary education is no easy feat, but moving halfway across the world to study takes a lot of courage! Meet Maddie!
My name is Maddie and I’m a 22-year-old girl from Sweden who took a chance on my dream to study both my hobby and passion for health and wellbeing. I have for as long as I can remember wanted to study abroad and when I finally had the chance, I took it. I started studying a Bachelor of Applied Fitness at ACPE in July 2018, but in March this year, I decided to change my degree to a Bachelor of Health Science (Fitness). My change had nothing to do with the degree itself it was just that I realised I wanted to do something else in the future, and therefore my current degree suited me better. In the future, I want to assist others in making healthy and realistic habits when it comes to nutrition and training, and I feel the Bachelor of Health Science (Fitness) provides me with information regarding these areas.
I am currently working as a student ambassador at ACPE and so far I am loving it! You may or may not see me on an open day, o-week or similar, since I will mostly be working and connecting with prospective students through the new chat function introduced on ACPE. This new function will allow prospective students to ask questions about ACPE to me as a current student, and I will be sharing parts of my everyday life in the form of pictures and videos there as well.
In my free time, I really enjoy going on hikes & train, read books, hang out with friends, and relax in front of a good movie. I am also a huge fan of cooking and baking, and I really love to tweak recipes when I cook. Sometimes it turns out to be great and sometimes it becomes a disaster, but that is the beauty of cooking.
