• Have an educational foundation While not strictly required, a degree in sports, such as sports science, sports management or physical education from ACPE, can provide a solid foundation and credibility.
  Our Associate Degree of Football (Development, Management and Performance) will teach you everything you need to know about the sports game, players, coaches, volunteers and the leaders so you have an in-depth understanding of the level of talent required when scouting athletes. Study this course in two years, full-time or part-time equivalent.
  
  
• Gain hands-on experience
  Starting in related roles, such as coaching or playing, can offer invaluable insights into the sport and its athletes so you know what to look for when scouting. Volunteering to scout for local teams or leagues also provides you with much-needed practical experience.
  
  
• Build a network 
  Building a network within the sports community is crucial. Attend sports events, coaching clinics and scouting seminars to meet industry professionals and learn from their experiences.
