The Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) is pleased to announce that our undergraduate sports coaching students will be supported by the excellent FootballSessions app who have designed a custom-built coaching app to support our students studying to gain a degree within sports coaching.
This term, first-year coaching students enrolled on the Theory and Application of Coaching and Playing Sport unit, will use the app to help them design small-sided games content as part of their studies, assessments, and their external coaching experiences.
More than 100 students will use the specially built ACPE app to create age and ability appropriate training sessions to support both theoretical and practical aspects of their degree content. The app also includes a tool for students to create professional player evaluations.
ACPE’s Director of Program Innovation and Development, Gareth Long said;
“It is important that our first-year sports coaching students are supported to design realistic and relevant coaching activities and games which also enable them to consider their own effective pedagogy and coaching interventions. By having access to a custom-built version of the Football Sessions app we can ensure that this provides a platform of high-quality from which to help develop their planning and delivery of coaching sessions.”
