ACPE is delighted to announce a new partnership in 2020 with BMR Coaching Academy. BMR Coaching Academy was established in 2018 by a group of Country parents Ally Goodall, Errol Goodall, Mark Polglase and Julie Dowling who all volunteer their time. The BMR Academy was set up to provide young emerging hockey players who are based in rural and remote areas of WA, with the opportunities to develop both their hockey and life skills.
The name BMR comes from the Founding three Ben Goodall, Mitchell Polglase and Rachael Dowling who all play their hockey and reside in Country WA. The relationship began when the BMR Academy had their first Eastern Australian Tour in 2019. On this tour, their quad squad visited ACPE to hear about ACPE and the wide range of career opportunities available in sport, health, fitness, education and dance.
This partnership will have a meaningful impact on ACPE, BMR and other academies around Australia through providing access to flexible study options at ACPE for the young participants of The BMR Academy and to ensure professional development and industry experience opportunities through ACPE’s network. The BMR Academy will also create further internship and employment opportunities for ACPE students with access to athletes, coaches and umpires which in turn will increase the footprint of ACPE in Western Australia and other rural and remote areas of Australia.
ACPE and BMR will have opportunities to partner in a wide range of training camps throughout the year where students can be involved in providing support for the BMR tour to Malaysia/Singapore, the Eastern Australia Tour plus other potential partner events.
Michael McKnight, Partnership Manager at ACPE, shared “With the flexible study options at ACPE it is important that we continue to support organizations across Australia such as BMR. ACPE will be able to provide valuable professional development opportunities for these athletes and coaches through our academics and network of industry partners. We are looking forward to developing a relationship with BMR that will make a difference to these young athletes in their pursuit of sporting success and career development.”
Both ACPE and BMR are looking forward to making the most of this partnership and showcasing the importance of sport and education to athletes, parents and the wider community.
