Sharon Jarvis, a two-time Paralympian, is one of the first students to complete ACPE’s Undergraduate Certificate in Sports Coaching – a six-month online course for those who already have experience of coaching.

“Enrolling on the Sports Coaching course was not exactly a normal path for me to go down, but one I am really pleased to have taken. I saw the undergraduate certificate advertised on the Australian Paralympians Facebook Group and made a rash decision to do it, thinking it could be useful in the future. Not having done something like this previously and not being overly confident in this area the staff all me feel welcome and instilled confidence in me that I could do it.

My favourite units were Professional Communication and Athlete Talent Identification & Development, maybe because I know I needed to improve my communication and I am fascinated by Talent Identification. This course has been a huge benefit to me especially as I have now picked up my dream job with Equestrian Australia, as their Para Pathways Coordinator.”
